Banff National Park
As a UNESCO World Heritage site, Banff National Park is Located in Alberta, in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. Born in the late 1800’s, Banff is Canada’s oldest National Park, and third oldest in the world. With over 2000 square km. of mountains, glaciers and rivers, the possibilities are endless. In the summer, you can attend the Banff Summer Arts Festival, full of music and culture. In January, see the yearly Ice Magic Festival, where artists from across the globe create frozen masterpieces.
Offering a range of accommodations from campgrounds to five-star resorts, it’s easy to find an ideal place to stay. When you need a break from hiking, canoeing, and skiing, you can relax in the hot springs, or explore the many shops and restaurants in the surrounding area.
Canadian Badlands
Many opportunities await in the Badlands; Step back into the time of the dinosaurs by visiting the Dinosaur Provincial Park, or the Royal Tyrrell Museum of Palaeontology. Niagara Falls
Come absorb the wonder of Niagara Falls! Visit the Cave of The Winds, to get as close as possible to the falls. Get soaked on the Hurricane Deck, where you are a mere couple metres from the thundering water! Plan a night-time trip to see the falls as well, when they are glowing in a rainbow of lights. Go to the top of the Observation Tower for the highest view, or take the Niagara Scenic Trolley for a beautiful 3 km. tour.
Confederation Bridge
The Confederation Bridge joins the provinces of Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick. At about 12 km. long, it is the longest bridge in the world crossing over ice-covered waters. The bridge has many curves, making for a fun ride, with gorgeous views.
Old Quebec
So full of history, Old Quebec has much to see. Walk the walls of the Quebec fortifications, and admire the surrounding scenery. Take a guided tour of the Citadelle. Built in the 1820’s, the sights are stunning, and rich with history. The Citadelle is still an active military garrison, and you can watch the Changing of the Guards in the summer. Visit Battlefields Park the site of many battles between the French and British armies or take a peek inside the Martello Towers and learn about their military roles.
