When you’re holiday with children it’s always a good idea to do a little background work into what’s nearby to keep them entertained…it will certainly pay off when you’re wanting some time for a well earned rest on the sunny beaches! With the winter sun chases looking for where to head why not consider Egypt? Here are five fantastic things you could do with your kids when on holiday in Egypt:

Historical Sites

There are a number of truly fascinating ancient sites and attractions across Egypt that the whole family can enjoy.  Your children are sure to have heard of the impressive Pyramids of Giza or the famous Sphynx sculpture, but with a trip to Giza they’ll have the opportunity to see these up close! The remains of the Temple of Luxor, the Valley of the Kings and Queens and the Temple of Dendera are just a handful of other historic places the country has to offer. Hire a car or take a coach excursion to visit them all.

Giza Zoo

Wherever you are in the world, the local Zoo can be a fun family-friendly day out! Visit the Giza Zoo in Egypt where you can see over 6,000 animals and wander 80 acres of park! A popular Egyptian attraction, seeing over 3 million visitors each year, the Zoo has a selection of rare species housed there including a Californian sea lion.

Sandcastles and Beach Fun

There are many fabulous beach resorts to choose from on your holiday in Egypt! Whilst the adults in your group may want to just lie back and enjoy the sunshine, make sure you invest in a bucket and spade for the kids and let them dig until their hearts content on the glorious Egypt sands. A snorkel set would also be a good buy, with Egypt being one of the most popular places across the globe to go snorkelling. Help your youngsters discover the underwater wonders including beautiful marine life and corals.

Waterpark

If you’re staying in one of the Egyptian beach resorts, you’ll never be far from a great swimming pool. For the best in water fun however, take the family to the Cleo Park Water Park in Sharm El-Sheikh. It has 6 exhilarating themed slides to choose from as well as the lazy river, rapids and wave machine!

Donkey Rides

For an unusual day out, book yourself onto a donkey ridden tour excursion through the Valley of the Kings! Sit astride a donkey as you explore the ancient Egyptian wonders and bask in the baking Egyptian weather. Other unusual Egyptian excursions include: A tour of the Luxor West Bank by Horse Drawn Carriage or the Luxor Hot Air Balloon ride.

Now with the kids looked after and well entertained, how about finding a nice sun lounger and get yourself some top quality ‘you time’. Some peace and quiet with a nice drink on the beach will be bliss, and your kids certainly owe you!
