Music Festivals and Stag dos!

Planning and executing the most epic stag party ever is just ‘what you do’ when your best mate is getting married. If you have been named best man, the pressure is on, everyone is expecting a lot from you. With the increase of stag tourism the best man’s job has become much easier, however if you are looking to shake things up a bit and break the stag do mould, you may have a bit of work cut out for you. One of the most exciting and sure-fire ways to shake things up, while also ensuring your stag do has legendary status, is by planning it around music festivals. Europe is home to thousands of these festivals, and the paragraphs below will give you a taste of some of the best ones!

Sziget Festival – Early August – Budapest, Hungary

The Sziget Festival was voted the best festival in Europe in 2011, and if multiple winnings were allowed it is likely it would have been voted the best festival every year since! The festival is Glastonbury meets Eastern Europe, and the head on collision is incredible. With an average of 30 degrees and above throughout August, Budapest creates the perfect climate for a rocking good time. If you are looking for the best all-around music festival for your stag do, this is the one!

Sonár Festival – Mid June – Barcelona, Spain

This is one of the best electronic music festivals, not just in Europe, but in the world! For one weekend each year the hipsters of the world flock to Barcelona, for this indoor electro spectacular. Due to an indoor venue, there is no camping out, you must look into hiring accommodation for the weekend. Being indoors does protect you from the scorching Spanish sun however. The whole festival seems like your favourite Ibiza nightclub on steroids, times a million, and if you have been to Ibiza you will know how bold of a statement that really is! If your group is into electronic music, sunny days on the beach, and very (very!) late nights then Sonár is the best music festival for your stag do.

Berlin Festival – Early September – Berlin, Germany

Known around the world as being the hotspot of music culture, and the birthplace of underground nightclubs, of course Berlin would have an incredible festival lineup as well. Located inside a former Nazi airport, that at the time it was built was considered the biggest building in the world, this festival packs all the punches. The lineup is sprawled across all genres, offering up a lot of lesser known artists. The universal feel of the weekend is very upbeat and inviting, even if you are hearing the songs for the first time! A festival stag do in Berlin will likely be the hardest you or any of your friends have ever partied!

All three are party capitals in their own right, but if you are looking for a unique and legendary way to enhance your weekend, consider a music festival for your stag do!
