Nature’s Most Amazing Natural Swimming Pools
Hotels around the world like to treat their guests to the best and nicest surroundings possible. But sometimes nature can go one better and provide something that is truly stunning. This is particularly the case when you’re looking for naturally occurring swimming pools to take a swim in.
Check out these amazing pools situated all round the world. Which one would you most like to take a dip in?
The Homestead Crater
What a name for a swimming pool! This is a naturally created sight that has been around for some 10,000 years. The underground pool benefits from naturally heated mineral water and sun streams in through the naturally occurring hole in the roof. Together they provide an experience unlike any other.
The spectacular pools of Pamukkale
These pools are not big, but some are deep enough to swim in. Furthermore they provide stunning thermal springs that flow into a series of terraces. It is no wonder this was called a Sacred Pool in times gone by. The waters are said to work wonders for rheumatism and bad skin too. The pools are also known as the white terraces or castles, such is the appearance they present.
The Fairy Pools in the Isle of Skye
They say the best things in life are worth waiting for. This is certainly the case with these pools. It’s worth heading to the Fairy Pools in warm weather, because the water in the pools themselves, while crystal blue in appearance, is rather cold. However it is worth it for the experience of dipping into these naturally occurring and incredibly photogenic pools.
The Blue Lagoon in Iceland
This is a geothermal spa that provides an incredibly comfortable place to swim. You can look forward to a water temperature that will reach at least 37 degrees Celcius (that’s around 98 degrees Fahrenheit). Many people say the water has healing properties and it makes you feel as if you are not on earth. It’s all due to the incredible feeling offered by the surroundings and the vapors rising from the water.
Dean’s Blue Hole in the Bahamas
This has to be the most spectacular sight to finish off with. Look for pictures of this natural phenomenon that have been taken from above. You’ll see why Dean’s Blue Hole is so called. It’s also one of the world’s best places for taking in a spot of free diving. Incredibly this natural formation is around four hundred feet deep, so it’s no wonder people are drawn to it for a closer look every year.
Summary
The moral of the story is that it doesn’t matter where in the world you head to – you’ll never be too far away from some of nature’s most amazing places to swim. There are plenty more too, but the ones shared above top the list for nature’s beauty and wonder all rolled into one. If you ever get the chance to experience at least one of them, make sure you do.
