Renting Tuscan Villas: Three Thrifty Tips
Tuscan Villas are a wonderful type of accommodation. They represent the heart of Tuscan style homes, a style sought all over the world for its warmth. A summer or winter holiday in the Tuscan region is something that many long for. The beauty of the settings above hilltops covered with lush green, the vicinity to art cities and centers, and the splendid swimming pools are enough to attract millions. If to this you add that the cost per person of a Tuscan villa is really minimal compared to hotels and other properties, it comes easily in mind that for your next Tuscan holiday you should get one.
These three tips are written for you to allow you to save on your next Tuscan villas rentals:
Only choose by owner only. Yes, many owners have their own website nowadays, and although they still heavily rely on agencies to fill their weeks, they are extremely happy to do without a commission when they can. So, seek for a direct contact, an easy thing to do thanks to the Internet. You just have to do some scouting on websites like Tripadvisor for the real name of the property and then search for the property website on Google. Easy. You will also save plenty of money. Indeed, owners are much more likely to cut you a better deal, at times half of what their commission to the agency would have been. Often this accounts for several hundred Euros per week! If you have a trust issue dealing with unknown individuals on the Internet, remember that owners do this for a living and will certainly not ruin their reputation for a week of rent.
Look for Tuscan villas in remote areas. It may be that you have to travel a bit off the beaten road to get to them, but their price will certainly be cheaper, their location stunning, and the distance from urban centers and art cities comfortable to reach within a half hour to an hour drive. Plus, you are going to stay one or two weeks anyway, better to stay in a peaceful place! So avoid over popular urban centers. By choosing more remote properties you are also sure to have all the privacy you may want and no bordering neighbors.
Finally, avoid the peak season. Many do not know that the sun in Tuscany starts in April-May and ends in September-October, so you have plenty of time to enjoy your Tuscan villas off the high season months of July and August. Stay in Tuscany from April until June and in September and October, but remember that for swimming pool baths you have to wait May 15 and will be able to swim only until the end of September. However, if you are not looking for a plunge at all costs, renting a home in the mid season will also provide a much more comfortable way of traveling, both from your country and back, and inside Tuscany, avoiding long museum lines, busy restaurants, and crowded events. A last word of advice. If you want to visit the Uffizi gallery in Florence, you will always find a huge line. Therefore you should go on the Uffizi website to book your ticket and skip that line!
