Top 5 Reasons to Visit San Francisco

San Francisco

San Francisco

San Francisco is one of the most beautiful cities in North America. Its winding and up-and-down streets can be difficult to navigate, but that is one of the pleasures of walking its thoroughfares. In the northern part of California, San Francisco is a vibrant city with a variety of cultural options. At the same time, its proximity to wine country makes it a perfect locale to begin a countryside retreat. Find flights to San Francisco and begin your adventure today.

    1. There are so many sights to be seen in San Francisco. Because it is a city on the bay, San Francisco offers the best in seaside features. In addition to beaches, you can go to Fisherman’s Wharf and experience the true sense of being on a boardwalk. Walk out on a pier and take in the Pacific Ocean. One the most famous sites, of course, is the Golden Gate Bridge, beautiful to see in person. San Francisco also houses Alcatraz, the infamous prison that is no longer in use. Take a boat to Alcatraz and go on an official organized tour to see how the country’s most hardened criminals once served their time.
    2. In addition to regular sights, San Francisco is full of city culture. North America’s largest Chinatown is in San Francisco. Walk the old-style streets, pop into shops and go to one of the district’s many delicious Chinese restaurants for a meal. Haight-Ashbury was made famous in the sixties for being the centre of the nation’s hippie movement. While most the hippies have moved on, you can still visit this vibrant neighbourhood and frequent its many bookstores and coffee shops. And no visit to San Francisco is complete without riding the historic cable cars, or trolleys.
    3. If you are a sports fan, San Francisco is one of the greatest cities to visit. For fans of American football, you can’t get much better than the 49ers, the team that made Joe Montana famous. Attending an NFL game is unlike any other live sporting experience. If baseball is your thing, the 2010 World Series Champion San Francisco Giants always have a good team to field. The beautiful AT&T Park sits right on the bay. Players can even hit home runs into the water. Take in the team of Willie Mays in person.
    4. If you like to socialize, San Francisco has some of the best nightlife and food around. Its many jazz clubs and wine bars will keep you entertained night after night. Go out in different neighbourhoods and discover the array of hot spots. San Francisco is also famous for its international food offerings. In particular, you can get a delicious, authentic burrito just about anywhere, but especially in the Mission district.
    5. Finally, San Francisco is conveniently close to wine country. Find flights to San Francisco and take a day trip to Napa Valley and taste some of the most famous wines in the United States. Tour some of the many wineries around the countryside.
