Warsaw is the capital and the largest city in Poland. Known as the Phoenix City, it has greatly recovered from the extensive damage it endured during World War II. In fact, it is currently a major tourist destination thanks to its amazing architectural styles, scenic landscapes and rich history. Tourists visiting the city should not miss out on the following top ten things to see in Warsaw:

1. Lazienki Royal Park

Ranging across a massive area of 76 hectares, it is the largest and most impressive park in the city. It is situated along the Royal Route.

2. Powazki Cemetery

Powazki Cemetery is one of the most popular and oldest cemeteries in Warsaw. It is a historic cemetery that houses the graces of many famous individuals from Polish history.

3. Polish Army Museum

This Museum is the second largest museum of the city. It has the largest collection of military objects and most of the historical documents pertaining to the military aspect of Poland. It shares a wing with the Polish National Museum.

4. Jewish Cemetery

In this cemetery, only members of the Jewish faith can be buried to keep the Jewish tradition. It is also known as the House of Eternity.

5. Temple of Sybille

The Temple of Sybille is a small temple with a magnificent wooden construction. It is designed like a classical ancient Greek temple. At its entrance are two cast iron lions. The interiors are decorated with paintings of fruits and flowers.

6. Historical Museum of Warsaw

This Museum covers all aspects of the history, life and culture of the city. It stretches across almost the entire Old Town area.

7. Royal Castle

This Castle is the official residence of the Polish monarchs. It is already a UNESCO World Heritage Site together with the Old Town. It is currently a national and historical monument.

8. Stare Miasto or Old Town

This is considered the most attractive area of the city thanks to the endless beautiful monuments. You will also find Renaissance tenement houses and Gothic churches here.

9.Wilanow Palace

This Royal Palace and Park is a priceless testimony to Poland’s splendor in the past. It is a part of the International Association of European Royal Residences. Every year, it also showcases international concerts and cultural events.

10. Palace of Culture & Science

The Palace of Culture & Science is the tallest building in the country and it ranks as the 8th tallest building in the entire EU. It used to be called the Joseph Stalin Palace of Culture & Science.
