Where to Choose For a Diving Holiday
The Maldives
Situated in the south-west of the Indian Ocean, this spot is beautiful and perfect for diving. There are loads of exotic fish species to marvel at, such as Napoleon wrasse and eagle rays – and the underwater sights go far beyond that. It’s also a great spot to go if you fancy a luxury holiday, as there are many four or five-star resorts that can make you feel as if you’re living in the lap of luxury. It’s not the cheapest place to go, but if you’ve got a handsome budget then why not consider it?
The Bahamas
Located in Florida, the Bahamas are a popular destination for honey-mooners and retired people alike. However what a lot of people don’t consider is its ideal situation as a diving spot. With its vibrant coral reef, shoals of beautiful fish and spectacular granite, it’s a great place to have an underwater adventure, at any age.
Indonesia
Head to the core of the Indo-Pacific ocean and say hello to thousands of species of fish. Coral walls await keen divers, who can venture into the darkest depths of the ocean to find sharks, turtles and even large tuna fish – which we’re more accustomed to seeing on our plates! Sulawesi in particular is a great area to choose. as it’s in the middle of a vibrant archipelago.
Caribbean
There are many areas in this much-loved land of beauty that it’s difficult to point out just one; but for argument’s sake, let’s choose Tobago. It’s a beautifully breathtaking spot that is home to hammerheads and manta rays; as well as brain corals and plankton. The latter can make it hard to get a clear view of the ocean bed, but if you put in the effort and continue to move deeper into the ocean, you really can have a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
